Esther has written and directed award winning short films, musicals, documentaries and film clips, but decided on songwriting as the best way to tell her stories. Esther’s first song won the ‘Headroom’ award in South Australia. In 2004 she was then awarded a SAYAB grant to produce four songs. In 2005 she received a top 10 placing at the Australian Songwriters Association (Folk Division).  She was also awarded an Arts Victoria and ‘Glenelg Shire’ Grant to complete her EP ‘Secret Heart’, and she  performed her songs professionally in South-West Victoria. In 2006 Esther received a 3rd placing in the Australian Songwriters Association (Folk Division) for her song Secret Heart. She also received the 'Star Encouragement Award' for her live performance of Listen for Home in South Australia's SCALA awards. Esther has just received an Arts SA Project and Development Grant to record her debut album with producer Chris Dickie, and is currently writing and arranging new material. The album will be released mid 2007.
